Vernon Ward Fisher

   Vernon Ward Fisher died Wednesday, April 4.  He was 80 years old.
   He was born in Morgan Hill, attended San Jose State University and graduated
from the University of Omaha.  Mr. Fisher was in the USAF for 26 years rising to
the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.  In World War 2 he flew B-25s and later B-47s
while serving in the Strategic Air Command.  He also served at the Pentagon as a
procurement officer.  His last assignment was on Sunnyvale as the Air Force
representative at Lockheed.
   After retirement he worked as a rehabilitation counselor at the Santa Clara
County Elmwood Jain in Milpitas.  He later moved to Oregon where he worked for
the State of Oregon in contract management in the Children Service Division.  He
retired after 10 years moving to Prunedale, moving again to Scotts Valley two
years ago.  He was very devoted to his church having served many years on
various church boards.  He was member of the Aptos Christian Fellowship.
   He is survived by his wife, Mildred S. Fisher of Scotts Valley, Daughter
Susan L. Lam, Son Stanley G. Fisher; and seven grandchildren.
   Services were April 7th at Aptos Christian Fellowship.
   Arrangements were under the direction of Santa Cruz Memorial Park HOme, 1927
Ocean Street, Santa Cruz.

Additional Comments:
Vernon Ward Fisher was a son of George Nathaniel Fisher & Bernice Lucile Ward,
grandson of Wilbur H. Ward & Bertha Gamble, and great-grandson of James P. Ward
and Ora J. Hulet.
