Greenslade William M. Greenslade died at the family residence on Hatzfeld avenue Wednesday evening, May 11, 1910, at the age of 80 years. He had been in failing health for some time, but was so as to be around the house up to the day before his death. He was a native o Chard, England, and removed to Indiana in 1851. In 1862 he enlisted in the Civil War as a Sergeant in Company A, 8125 Regiment Indiana Volunteer Infantry, and serve until mustered out June, 1865. He was married 1857 to Caroline F. Mitchell, who died April 23, 1885. Of this marriage three children are living, Mrs. Caroline Hardin of Rochester, Indiana, and Nannie Greenslade and H. E. Greenslade of Morgan Hill. Another son, Theodore Greenslade, died here in November, 1907. Mr. Greenslade was married in 1890 to Josie Hamilton, who survives him. They came to Elmhust in 1898 and to Morgan Hill three years ago. For fifty-four years Mr. Greenslade was an earnest Christain [sic] and a member of the Presbyterian church. His was a noble character, and his conduct was of the most kindly to all with whom he came in contact. The funeral was held Saturday at the Presbyterian church, Rev. J. B. Vance of San Martin officiating. Additional Comments: William M.
