E. Church with sermon by the pastor, Rev. Dr. Dennett. Mr. Hafstrom had been a resident of this valley for many years; he was a native of Sweden, aged about 71 years and 6 months. He was quiet and industrious. All his neighbors speak well of him. His family all reside in the old country. While he was without relatives near him in his last hours, he was not without friends. Those nearest to him speak in kindliest praise of Mr. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Stephens who in their usual way ministered to the needy one. A. Olander was born and reared within a few miles of Mr. Hafstrom’s home in Sweden and he and Mrs. Olander were as brother and sister to the lonely sufferer in his last illness, and to them special commendation is due for their faithful care of an aged friend in the midst of strangers.
