Mrs. Hares had been suffering from cancer and had an operation some time ago. She was in better health after that but the relief was only temporary and she gradually grew worse until death relieved her of her sufferings. Mrs. Hares was a native of California and lived in Morgan Hill most of her life, many years living with her parents in the old twenty-one mile house. She will long be remembered by many loving friends who sympathize with her husband, C. H. L. Hares, and her daughter Dorothy and son Reginald, in their sad bereavement. She leaves two brothers, John O’Toole of San Jose and William O’Toole of San Francisco, and a sister, Margaret O’Toole of San Francisco. The funeral was held on Saturday in San Jose, a requiem mass being celebrated at St. Patrick’s church with interment at Calvary cemetery.
