W. W. Kelley, aged 68 years. Mr. Kelley was an old soldier and also a missionary to Africa and while in Africa he contracted a lung trouble that lasted him through many years. Recently he took a severe cold from the effects of which pneumonia and congestion of the lungs set in. He died in a a few days. Services were held at the M. E. Church, Rev. Horton of San Jose preached the funeral sermon. The remains were buried at Mount Hope cemetery, Morgan Hill. Additional Comments: Walter W. Kelley was survived by his second wife, Minerva A. Hawkins Kelley, a son by his first marriage, William R. Kelley born August 1877 in Illinois, and his children from his marriage with Minerva: Walter W. Kelley, Jr., born January 1892 in Illinois, Helen Elizabeth Kelley, born October 29, 1893 in California, died November 16, 1980 in California, married Guy Herbert Harkness and both are buried in Mount Hope Cemetery; Maurice E. Kelley, born September 1895 in California; and Raymond Vivian Kelley born September 10, 1897, died July 28, 1980 Alameda County, California.
