She had resided in this city for many years and in January, 1869, was married here to Henry L. McDuffee, with whom she has lived happily ever since. She had been out of health for a number of years but her death was not expected so soon. She was a good woman of most generous impulses and although she had been living alone with her husband for many years she was very fond of her son, Harry, who resided in San Francisco each visiting the other very frequently. She leaves to mourn her loss a devoted husband, Henry L. McDuffee who is heart-broken over her so sudden departure and one son, Harry, of San Francisco. She also leaves a sister Mrs. Mary Raggett of San Francisco, and four grandchildren to whom she was much attached and anxious every day to hear from her beloved grandson, Henry Lloyd McDuffee, sergeant of a company now stationed at Camp Kearny. The funeral was held at 2 o’clock p. m. Tuesday from the undertaking parlors of Parmelee & Barshinger, and her body laid to rest in the I.O.O.F. and Masonic cemetery.
