He had resided in Gilroy for many years and for some time had been engaged as a distiller, his place of business being upon Seventh street. At one time he was possessed of considerable property but lost the greater part of it in the San Francisco earthquake and fire, since which time he had become much dispirited. He was married in this city May 11, 1889 to Miss Katie Berri and died leaving 5 children, tow daughters, Lily and Virginia and three sons, John, Fred and Rockie Rea, all of whom are residents of this city. He also leaves an aged mother in his native country from whom he had such affection and of whom he was wont to speak often in tones of endearment. He was a fond husband, an indulgent parent and a man possessed of a tender heart and sincere esteem for his friends.” File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ca/santaclara/obits/r/rea4793gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/cafiles/ File size: 1.6 Kb
