Frank Sulentich


Frank Sulentich, 82, of San Jose, Calif., formerly of Excelsior Springs, died 
May 19 at a San Jose hospital. He was born in Yugoslavia and lived in Excelsior 
Springs 12 years before moving to San Jose two years ago. He was a retired 
painter. He was a Catholic.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Ella S. Sulentich of the home, two daughters, Mrs. Mary 
E. Nohel, San Jose, and Mrs. Betty J. Leach, Caseville, Mich., and six 
grandchildren.

Services and burial were in San Jose.


Additional Comments:
NOTE: Frank Sulentich was born Frane Sulentic, the sixth of twelve children of 
Ante Sulentic (1853 - 1938) and Marija (Beronic) Sulentic (1859 - 1931). He was 
born on May 25, 1890 at Sveti Rok, Croatia and died on May 17, 1973 at San Jose, 
CA. He married Marija pl. Zdunic at Sveti Rok, Croatia on September 15, 1918 and 
they had one daughter, Ika (Sulentic) Vulic. Frane / Frank arrived at the Port 
of New York on January 25, 1921 aboard the Ship Westra via Buenos Aires. On 
September 7, 1926 he married Ella Sedane Smith at Saint Louis, MO. Frank and 
Ella were the parents of two daughters, Mary Elizabeth (Sulentich) Nohel Kendall 
(1927 - 1997) and Betty Jean (Sulentich) Leach (1928 - 2019).
