A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Mr. Stevens was reared in Coyote. He had joined the Navy at 17 and was discharged in 1945. He had been employed as a mortician in Stockton, Nevada City and Oroville. For the last two years he had worked as a bartender in Santa Cruz. He is survived by his wife, Alice Stevens of Santa Cruz; three daughters, Dawn Rosiland Stevens of Santa Cruz; Dallas Young of San Diego and Lucrecia C. Miccichi of Denver, Colo.; His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Stevens Sr. of Santa Cruz; two sisters, Ellen Patricia Bellah Seymore of Memphis, Tenn., and Mrs. Alma Louise Russell of Fair Oaks, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in White’s Chapel, 138 Walnut Ave., with Dr. Fredrick Robinson officiating.
