January 2. Dr. H. I. Swigert died at Watsonville, on Christmas Day of tuberculosis of the heart. He passed from this life just at the age when it seemed to hold out the greatest promise, he being but 33 years of age. The deceased had not enjoyed good health for a long time, and last Summer came to Sisson and opened dental parlors. He gained many friends here. He was a member of the Masonic fraternity and prominent in social and Church circles. His business from a financial view was all he could wish. He left Sisson early last Fall with the intention of returning in the Spring to make this his permanent home. His body was shipped to his old home in Udall, Kansas, where it will be interred in the family plot.
