Kevin Murray

Kevin Murray, a Dixon resident and student, died on June 15, 2002, in an
automobile accident near Dixon. He was 15.

He was born on Nov. 21, 1986, in Woodland. He was an outstanding athlete at
Christian Brothers High School in Sacramento and a graduate of Notre Dame
Elementary School.

He was a member of the Dixon youth baseball, basketball and football leagues,
and he played for the Notre Dame basketball team. He was a member of the
Christian Brothers basketball and football teams, and was also a member of the
Vacaville Heat Basketball Club.

His mother, JoLee Murray, also died in the accident.

His family describes him as a rising star and a beloved brother and son. Family
and friends knew him affectionately as "Da bomb." He will be greatly missed by
all those who knew him.

He is survived by his father, Dr. Robert Murray; brother, Patrick Murray; and
sister, Mary Murray, all of Dixon.

A visitation will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Catholic
Church, 105 Second St. in Dixon, with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Catholic
Church. Father Maurice O'Brien of St. Peter's Catholic Church will preside.
Interment will be at the Silveyville Cemetery in Dixon.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Brothers High School, 4315
Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95820-2727.

Arrangements are under the direction of Milton Carpenter Funeral Home.
