Hattie was the second of nine children born to the union of Matthew Richardson and Polly White Richardson, on December 31, 1904, in Paduca, Cottle County, Texas. After attending schools in Atoka, OK and Bryan, TX, she met and married Frank MacDonald in 1924. Frank and Hattie had one son, John Wesley MacDonald (J.W. or Mac). Their marriage ended in 1926. Hattie knew and loved the Lord all of her life. She was a great mother and single parent who raised her son to have good values. She loved to cook and host dinners and gatherings for all of her family especially during the holidays. She was hard working, very cheerful, and had a good word for most people. Hattie met and married a second time in 1942, to Robert Hibbitt, in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas. Robert and Hattie moved from Texas to Vallejo, CA in the 1940’s, where Hattie created and sold her Lady Hibbitt’s Hair Products throughout California until 1954. Hattie and Robert remained married until his death on July 25, 2002. Hattie was blessed with a long wonderful life full of the normal ups and downs that most families have. She was able to amaze everyone with stories about the history she remembered and the changes she had seen over a century of living on this planet. May the Lord bless her with a peaceful sleep until His return. Hattie leaves to cherish her memories, one son, John Wesley McDonald of Vallejo, CA, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
