Oakland Tribune, Oakland, Ca., Nov. 1, 1918
Naval Hospital Will be Opened - Vallejo, Nov. 1 - ............ Rayburn 
Twilegar, a well known local resident and Mare Island employee died at the 
navy yard civilian hospital last Wednesday night as a result of an attack of 
pneumonia which followed Spanish influenza. Deceased was 36 years of age and 
was a native of Vallejo, and besides his wife [Martha] is survived by his 
father Joseph [error - Jackson] Twilegar, of Goldfield, Nev.
