Bouton, Andrew. A native of Courtland county, New York, born April 10, 1831,
where he remained until twenty-one years of age, when he went to Steuben county,
where he engaged in farming, grafting, lumbering and teaching, in season. In
1858 he emigrated to California. Spending about two months in Yuba county, he
proceeded to Napa county and engaged in fruit-growing for ten years. November,
1868, found him in this county. His place is known as the "Heart's Desire"
Orchard. Follows fruit-growing as a business. This fruit farm is located in
Washington township, about five miles from Healdsburg.
