Clark, D. Curtis. The subject of this sketch, a teacher in the public school of
Healdsburg, Mendocino township, was born in Menard county, Illinois, on January
23, 1857. In the year 1863 he accompanied his parents to California, and settled
on a farm near Santa Rosa. Mr. Clark was educated at the Pacific Methodist
College at Santa Rosa, from which he graduated on May 18, 1876, when he
commenced teaching in the country districts, pursuing this calling until July
29, 1878, at which time he was chosen to fill his present position. He married,
on September 20, 1877, at Santa Rosa, Miss Allie Crump, a native of the State of
Arkansas.
