Haubert, Jacob. Was born in Germany October 20, 1831. Came to America in 1848,
first settling in New York City, where he sojourned for a few months, when he
went to Brooklyn, and in the Fall of 1851 came to California via Panama,
arriving in San Francisco November 10, 1851, where he began the bakery business
which he followed until 1858, when he moved upon his present estate of two
hundred and sixty acres. Married Miss Mary Gerstung on January 3, 1854. She was
born in Germany January 3, 1828. Henrietta, born September 26, 1855; Mary, born
May 2, 1857; August, born August 2, 1858; Emma, born September 23, 1861, are the
names and births of their children.
