(1880) Morse, E. E. Was born in Hanover, Grafton county, New Hampshire, August 17, 1823. Here he was educated and resided until 1844, and then removed to Boston, Massachusetts, where he was engaged in the common avocations of life, until the year 1849. On November 22d of that year, he sailed from Boston, on the brig "Kate Heath," for California, arriving in San Francisco May 1, 1850. He immediately proceeded to the mines in Calaveras county, remaining eleven months, and returned to San Francisco and began teaming, pursuing the same until 1871, then moved to Sonoma township, this county, settling on his present farm, where he has since resided. Mr. Morse married Sarah M. Wiederhold, in the Island of Nantucket, on June 20, 1855. She was born on that Island, September 14, 1834. Their children are: Emma L., born February 24, 1856, and Nellie A., born May 23, 1868.
