Author: Alley, Bowen & Co. (1880)

Pfister Conrad. A native of Switzerland, born July 28, 1832. Emigrated to
America, settling in Philadelphia, and after one year's residence there, went to
Chicago, Illinois. He left that city in March, 1860, and came to this State,
living in San Jose till 1868, thence to this county, buying his present farm of
one hundred and sixty acres in Santa Rosa township. Married in Du Page county,
Illinois, on January 12, 1860, Miss Mary Hoyer. She was born in Northampton
county, Pennsylvania, December 25, 1836. Their children are: Julia A., John,
Lewis M., Henry, Conrad, Volney J., Nelson B., Franklin P., Mary R., Oliver F.
and Bertha E.
