(1880) Poehlmann, Martin. Born in Germany October 1, 1819. In 1847 he emigrated to America and settled in New York. February 20, 1855, he sailed on board the ship "J. L. Stephens," from Panama for California, arriving in San Francisco on March 17. Here he carried on butchering as a business until 1857, when he came to Petaluma and engaged in his present business, that of a butcher, which he has followed continuously ever since. Married August 6, 1850, Miss Mary Bader, by whom he has one child living, Mary, born October 10, 1854. One child deceased.
