AMERICAN LEGION MEMORIAL Taken from "The History of Sonoma County" copyright 1926 Submitted by Lori Wicks 29 Mar 2003 On the lawn of the courthouse grounds stands a memorial to the nurses and enlisted men from Sonoma County whose lives were sacrificed in the World war. The memorial is in the form of a large field piece. On a bronze tablet are inscribed the names of the heroic and self-sacrificing ones honored with this monument through the loyal and loving exertions of Theodore Roosevelt Post of the American Legion.
