Also survived by Penny Eggenberger, wife of Paul; Jim Hubbard, husband of Janet; and Laurel Eggenberger, wife of James. Born in Iowa; a Sonoma County resident for 21 years. World War II veteran. Member of California Structural Engineers Assn., and licensed professional engineer. Member of C.F. Braun Association. Byrne enjoyed gardening, engineering, following current events, taking walks, and horse racing. He also liked music, especially jazz and Sarah Brightman. Private services.
