Santa Rosa, April 17th. — A rancher named John Krapf, from the western part of the county, committed suicide here by taking strychnine this morning. He was found in the middle of the street, bareheaded and shouting in a wild manner, about 12 o'clock last night, and was taken to the Police Station, where he died at 6 o'clock this morning. Krapf had been on a protracted spree for four or five days, and was brought here to be examined as to his sanity. After being pronounced mentally intact he filled up on whisky, with the result stated. The deceased was about forty years of age, and leaves a wife and children."
