Lee, beloved wife of the late E. Galen Lee, dearest mother of Marjorie Willey of Sacramento and JoAnn Hamlin of Pebble Beach, CA, loving sister of Fred Sheppard of Santa Rosa, Ellen Schalich of Santa Rosa, Ann Higgins of Berkley, CA, 5 grandchildren, 8 great- grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews also survived. A native of Idaho, age 85 years. Charter member of the Santa Rosa Presbyterian Church of the Roses, 60-year member of the Valley Home Chapter, Order of Eastern Star No. 182, life member Santa Rosa Golf Country Club, member Saturday Afternoon Club, 50-year member Corona Club, member of the Retired Teachers Association having retired from teaching in 1960. Friends are invited to attend funeral services Wednesday, August 27, 1980 at 1 P.M. at Daniels Chapel of the Roses with Reverend Wayne Johnson, Pastor of the Santa Rosa Presbyterian Church of the Roses officiating. Interment to follow Shiloh District Cemetery. Obituary: Katherine Lee. Services for Katherine Sheppard Lee, 85, a retired teacher, will be at 1 P.M. at Daniels Chapel of the Roses. She died Sunday at her Santa Rosa home. A native of Idaho, she lived in Sonoma County 78 years. She retired in 1960 after 36 years as a teacher in Sonoma County schools. She last taught in the Mark West School District. She was a charter member of Santa Rosa Presbyterian Church of the Roses, and also was a member of Valley Home Chapter, OES; Santa Rosa Golf Country Club, Saturday Afternoon Club, Corona Club and Retired Teachers Association. She was the widow of the late Galen Lee. Each of them from long-time Sonoma County families, they had been childhood acquaintances and were married in 1923. She is survived by her daughters, Marjorie Willey, Sacramento, and JoAnn Hamlin, Pebble Beach; her sisters, Ellen Schalich, Santa Rosa, and Ann Higgins, Berkeley; her brother, Fred Sheppard, Santa Rosa; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
