Agtang Raymond 490616 p1 Irrigation Ditch Claims Life of 14 Month Old Baby; Raymond Agtang, Stockton, Drowns After Falling into Irrigation Lateral; The silent, cool, but treacherous waters of an irrigation ditch have claimed another victim. A fresh mound of earth in St. Mary's cemetery and quiet grief in the hearts of his parents mark the memory of little Raymond Agtang, fourteen month old baby. Raymond was visiting his grandparents in their cabin near Hamilton and Vernalis roads. Barely able to walk the little fellow toddled out of the open door of the cabin and made his way to an irrigation lateral, a few hundred feet away. Evidently he slipped and fell into the shallow trench. A half an hour later he was missed and the frantic search ended in despair when the tiny body was found at 3:30 p. m. floating in the ditch by Angel Tela, a tractor operator on the Frank Smith ranch. Medical Aid; Medical aid was summoned immediately along with the resuscitator squad from the Patterson fire department. After a half hour of desperate attempts at revival Raymond was pronounced dead by Dr. Herbert Archibald.
