"OBITUARIES. FRED CLARENCE ALFORD, 88, of Denair, died Sunday [October 11] in
Turlock.  Services: Funeral 10:30 a.m. Wednesday [October 14] at Allen Mortuary
Chapel.  Visitation 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the chapel.  Burial at Turlock
Memorial Park.  Background: Native of Chino. Lived in Turlock 29 years before
moving to Denair in 1935.  Retired farmer.  Member of the Farm Bureau and Denair
Senior Citizens.

Survivors: Five children, John C. Alford of Aulander, N.C., Mary E. Moore of
Winton, Thomas E. Alford of Orland;, Roy L. Alford of San Bernardino and Sam E.
Alford of Denair.  Sister, Kate Maddux of Modesto. Fifteen grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.. Remembrances: Denair Friends Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box
235, Denair 95316." END
