Alice B. Gruber, 85, a Modesto resident for more than 60 years, died Friday in a 
local hospital after a brief illness.

A native of San Francisco, she worked as a bookkeeper for 20 years at the 
Griswold & Wight auto agency.  She was a member of the Geneva Presbyterian 
Church and the Grange.

She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Ann Vincent of Modesto; a son, Robert 
Gruber of Fremont; a sister and brother including Lila T. Brigden of Modesto; 
also, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday at Geneva Presbyterian Church.  
Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.

The family prefers rememberances to the Geneva Presbyterian Church Memorial 
Fund.
