Fidel Vergel DeDios 
Nov. 4, 1925 - October 3, 2004



Fidel Vergel DeDios, 78, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2004. He was born 
November 4, 1925, in San Francisco, CA. He grew up in Stockton before moving to 
San Jose and Seattle, WA and eventually settled in Modesto. 
He is survived by his wife, Marlene DeDios, whom he met and married in Bombay, 
India, while serving in the United States Merchant Marines. He is survived by 
his children, Darrell DeDios of Tacoma, WA, Leslie DeDios Centeno of Stockton, 
Erik DeDios and Rita DeDios, both of Modesto; grandchildren, Harry, Jr., David 
and Erica Centeno of Stockton; Rene, Erik, Jr. and Anthony DeDios of Modesto 
and Angel and Destiny DeDios of Stockton. He is also survived by brothers, Ben 
Villarruz of San Jose, Art Villarruz of Merced and Primo Villarruz of Seattle, 
WA and sisters, Henrietta Diangson of Redwood City and Carolyn Villarruz of 
Redwood City. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard DeDios and Paul 
Villarruz.
A viewing will be held at Salas Funeral Chapel, 419 Scenic Dr., Modesto on 
Sunday, October 10, 2004 from 4:00-9:00 p.m and a Chapel Service will be held 
on Monday, October 11 at 10:00 a.m., followed by committal at Acacia Memorial 
Park, Modesto.
