Appeal Democrat 03-01-1960 pg 4 Josephine Girdner Girdner - Josephine Girdner, 93, a native of Sutter County and a member of an old time pioneer family in the area, died yesterday morning in a Yuba City hospital following a short illness. Her father, Joseph Girdner was a pioneer resident of Sutter County and the Brittan school was named after her mother, Virginia's family. Survivors include four nieces, Mrs Ray Randall, Inverness, Mrs. D. E. King, East Biggs, Mrs Sherman K Burke and Miss Margaret Girdner, San Francisco. Funeral services are scheduled at Ullrey Memorial Chapel at 2 pm tomorrow with Rev. Harry Vise of the Yuba City First Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Sutter Cemetery.
