Appeal Democrat Feb. 07, 1935 Pg 1 Second Death Is Result of Y. C. Accident The Sunday night automobile crash at a Yuba City highway intersection in which John L. May was killed claimed its second victim late Wednesday afternoon when Lester Moon, 20-year-old Sutter youth, died at the Sutter county hospital. Moon, a passenger in the May roadster when it crashed into the machine of Raymond Weser, Yuba City, sustained head injuries when he was hurled from the overturned car. He did not regain consciousness at any time. Moon, son of -- Moon of Sutter, was a native of Sutter county and had lived here all his life. He had been enrolled at the Challenge CCC camp to which he was returning with May when the accident occurred. Appeal Democrat Feb. 07, 1935 pg 1 Lester Moon Rites Set for Saturday Funeral services for Lester Moon, automobile crash victim, will be held at 10 am Saturday at the Jones chapel in Yuba City with Rev. Ralph Crawford of Sutter City officiating. The Chaplain at Challenge CCC camp of which Moon was a member will assist in the services. Interment will be made in the Sutter City cemetery.
