Appeal Democrat Monday, April 22, 1963 pg 14 Longtime Sutter Resident Dies Anna Gibson McPherrin, 88, a resident of Sutter since childhood died Saturday at Rideout hospital after a long illness. A native of Kansas, she came to Sutter county as a small child and lived with her parents, Mr and Mrs William C. Gibson, on the Sacramento River near Kirksville until moving to Sutter. She was the widow of John Jacob McPherrin, a native of Sutter County who died in 1945. She was a charter member of the Daughters of the Civil war Veterans of Yuba City and the last chapter member of the Sutter County Woman's Club. She was also a member of WHO of Sutter. Survivors include a son, Elwood McPherrin of Live Oak and a brother, Ernest Gibson of Oroville; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 pm at Ullrey Memorial Chapel by Rev. Edgar Nelson. Interment will be in Sutter Cemetery.
