McPherrin Dies
John Jacob McPherrin, a pioneer Sutter county stockraiser, died this morning in a local 
hospital after an illness which extended over the past three years. McPherrin associated 
with his son, Earl McPherrin owned a large section of land near Sutter City and a large 
number of sheep. McPherrin was born in 1873 in California and is a member of one of 
the pioneer families of the community. Surviving relatives are his wife, Anna Gibson 
McPherrin, Sutter a son, Earl E McPherrin, Sutter; a brother William Henry McPherrin, 
Sutter; five grandchildren, all of this community and several nieces and nephews. A 
daughter Ariel McPherrin is dead. Funeral services will be held in the Ullrey memorial 
chapel at 11 am on Saturday with interment at Sutter City.
