Appeal Democrat Saturday April 28, 2001 Pg C2 Edward L Putman Edward L "Ned" Putman, 76, of Yuba City died April 25, 2001 at Fremont Hospital. Born in Yuba City, he was a lifelong Yuba-Sutter resident. He retired as vice -president of the Yuba City Steel Products. He was former vice -president of the Yuba City First Lutheran Church. He also served as past president of Sutter Parlor No. 261 Native Sons of the Golden West, the Yuba-Sutter Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club of Yuba City and the Yuba City commercial Association. He was a former trustee of the Tierra Buena Elementary School Board, Peach Tree Golf and Country Club and Yuba-Sutter Farm Bureau. In addition, he served as a sergeant in the Marine Corps during World War II in the South Pacific. Survivors include his wife, Laura Putman of Yuba City; a son, Kevin Putman of Yuba City; four daughters, Kayra Dillon of Carmichael, Susan Putman of Oakland, Janet Putman of Albany and Patricia Barlow of Griffin, GA; a brother, Orlin Putman of New Smyrna Beach, Fla; and eight grandchildren. Contributions can be made to Valley Hospice, 970 Plumas St., Yuba City, Ca 95991 or to the Yuba City First Lutheran Church, 850 Cooper Ave., Yuba City. Services: A memorial service will be conducted at 10 am Wednesday at the Yuba City First Lutheran Church. the Rev. J. Murray Elrod will officiate. Private inurnment will be in Sutter Cemetery.
