Appeal Democrat Thursday March 10, 1955 page 7 Meridian Native Dies In Oakland Funeral services will be conducted in McNary chapel in Colusa Saturday at 10:30 am for Mrs Nellie Cora Staas of Meridian who died in an Oakland sanitarium today following a long illness. She was a native of Sutter County, born near Meridian Nov. 3, 1879. Her husband, August Staas died in 1938. She leaves three daughters, Mrs Fay Hall of Meridian, Mrs Lea Marlin of Riverside and Mrs Effie A McNeill of Alameda; three sons, Roy of Marysville, Fred of Ione and Edward of Sacramento' a brother, Robert Fairlee of Gridley; 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Rev. Robert Weist, pastor of the Meridian Methodist church will officiate at the funeral with members of the Lilac Rebekah lodge assisting. Interment will be at Meridian cemetery
