Appeal Democrat Saturday, August 24, 1963 pg 3 Sutter Native Succumbs at 81 Marion Montgomery Stegmere, native and lifelong resident of Sutter County, died today in the family home at 759 Reeves Ave., Yuba City, after a long illness. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am Tuesday at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, Yuba City with interment in the Sutter Cemetery. Stegmere would have been 82 years old Aug. 29. His parents were Mr and Mrs Frederick Stegmere, pioneer residents of Sutter County. Nearly all of his life Stegmere had farmed in Sutter County on Township Road, but he had retired for a number of years. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Harris Stegmere, who also was born in Sutter County the same year as her husband, at a farm about two miles from the Stegmere farm on Township Road. Also surviving are a son, Jack Stegmere of Yuba City and a daughter, Mrs Mildred Blake of Daly City; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren; a twin sister, Mae Stegmere, a retired nurse living in San Francisco, another sister, Mrs Perne Daniels of San Carlos, also a retired nurse, a brother, Marion Stegmere of Colusa
