Appeal Democrat Tuesday, November 15, 1960 Death in SF Hospital for Mrs. Summy Mrs. Dorothea E Summy, wife of Yuba City Union High School Supt. Clarence A Summy died early today at the University of California Hospital in San Francisco. Mrs Summy, 48, became ill unexpectedly on Nov. 4, the eve of her birthday. She underwent major surgery at the San Francisco hospital the following day. Relatives reported she had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage. Classes Dismissed She reportedly died at 6 a.m. The flag outside Yuba City Union High School was lowered to half- mast this morning. Classes were dismissed at noon. Mrs Summy, the former Dorothea Blevins, was the mother of four children. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Sheila Messick of Marysville, Mrs Sharon Howard of Yuba City, Mrs Sandra Finocchio of Sacramento and Linda of Yuba City. Other survivors are her parents, Mr and Mrs. Morton L. Blevins of Oswald; a brother, James Blevin of Oswald; and three sisters, Mrs Elsie Schmidt of Yuba City, Mrs Delcie Amesbury of Sanger and Mrs Emily Albin of Sacramento. Funeral arrangements are pending.
