The boy, Kevin, was setting crawl dad traps with his father in the river about three miles south of West Sacramento off South River Road. Sgt. Paul Anderson of the Yolo County sheriff's department said Kevin had a line tied around his waist and attached to one of the traps which pulled him into the river as it was swept downstream. The elder Summy watched helplessly as his son disappeared. The diver, assisted by members of the West Sacramento Fire Department, searched the river for about two hours before the body was recovered.
