DEATH OF MRS. HEALY

Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth [Ide Cooper] Healy died in this city at 4:15 o’clock
Tuesday afternoon from a general decline from old age, but her demise was
besieged by the attack of malaria, which was probably the immediate cause of
death.  She had been in failing health for a long time and for several years was
partially paralyzed.

Mrs. Healy was undoubtedly one of the oldest inhabitants of this county, having
arrived here in 1845.  She was the daughter of W.B. Ide, who settled on the
tract of land about four miles south of the place, known as the Barranca
Colorado rancho, the river portion of which was called Ide’s bottom.  The late
heirs were Mrs. Healy, James, W.H., Daniel and Lemuel Ide, and the latter is now
the only survivor of the family.

Mrs. Healy was born in 1827 and was aged 76 years and 7 months.  Besides her
husband she leaves four daughters and one son, Mrs. A.C. Nanney of Paynes Creek,
Mrs. Alice McCrory of Oakland, Mrs. E.N. Eager of Fairfield, Mrs. Wm. M Luther
of Montana, and Lucien H. Healy of the United States Army.

In order that as many relatives as possible may be in attendance at the
performance of the last sad rites, the funeral has been set for Saturday at 2
p.m. and will probably be held from church of the Adventists, at the northerly
end of Johnson Street.
