R. Street. William Riley Street, a native of Indiana, aged nearly 74 years, departed this life at 8 o’clock Friday morning. He had not enjoyed good health for some time but it was less than a week ago that his illness made it necessary to take to his bed. Mr. Street first came to California in the early ‘60’s and after a short residence returned to the East but he did not remain there long before the California fever again seized him and he again came to this state. He first engaged in mining but later turned his attention to farming and stockraising which was his occupation for many years. During the last twelve years of his life his residence has been in this city. Surviving him are his widow, three daughters, Mrs. G. C. Downer, Mrs. John J. Miller and Miss Clara Street, and three sons, William H., Harry and Lonnie Street. The funeral will be held from his late residence, 717 Hickory street, at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon. Additional Comments: William went to CA during the Gold Rush, returned home and married Barsheba R. Pollard daughter of Benjamin Pollard and Rachel Jordan. It is not yet known what Street family in Indiana that William came from.
