While the data may not be complete in every detail, yet the information as to time, place and dates may be relied upon to be authentic as far as it is humanly possible to ascertain. We must bear in mind that the lapse of time, the ruthless hand of ignorance and the devastations of fire and war have laid waste and destroyed many valuable monuments of antiquity on which the utmost exertions of human genius were employed. Freemasonry and the history of Traver Lodge, notwithstanding, has still survived. To Mrs. H. P. Peacock, of Bakersfield, we are indebted for the picture of Old Traver Creamery where Traver Lodge held its meetings for many years. To Brother Christopher Dudley, we are indebted for his contribution, a book entitled "Fifty Years of Masonry in California," published in 1898. We have derived much valuable information from its pages. Incidentally, Brother Dudley was a charter member of Traver Lodge in 1889, demitted to Reedley Lodge, No. 304, in 1891, and served as Master of that lodge in 1895-6-7-8. He is living at present at Pacific Grove, Calif. Brother J. C. McCubbin has contributed liberally from his fund of knowledge and his store of relics and souvenirs. The History Committee appreciates the assistance rendered by this esteemed brother who wears the 50 year emblem presented by Traver Lodge in 1938. Brother Forrest Stirewalt has been a source of information to the writer, and to him we say, "Thanks a lot." To the Kingsburg Recorder, Edwin E. Jacobs, and John E. Lenker, we express our appreciation for the help given in compiling and printing this booklet. THE HISTORY COMMITTEE, Fred Schaffer, Chairman.
