“Clyde Oran (Cob) Balaam

Private services were held in Sacramento for Clyde Oran (Cob) Balaam, a member 
of a pioneer Tulare family, who died in Sacramento on July 20 [1975].

Mr. Balaam was born in Exeter in 1897.  He attended Exeter schools and was 
graduated from the University of Nevada where he was a celebrated football 
player.

In 1926 Mr. Balaam married the former Dorothy Ross in Mendocino County.
He worked for the Southern Pacific Railway as yard master in Sacramento.  He 
had been retired for several years.

Mr. Balaam is survived by his widow, Dorothy Balaam of Sacramento; two sons, 
Clyde Balaam Jr. of Carmichael, and John Ross Balaam of Anaheim; one daughter, 
Beverly Lou Macdonald of Mill Valley; and seven grandchildren.” END
