Tulare Advance Register, November 29, 1948 
"Native of County Dies

Finis was written to another chapter of Tulare county history Sunday [November 
28] when Robert (Bob) Broder, 81, died in a Tulare hospital.

Broder, born in 1867 in the Four creeks area [of Tulare county] between Visalia 
and Exeter, was the last member fo the Andrew Broder family, one time owner of 
800 acres in the Four creek district.

Broder's father was the first sheriff of Alameda county when that county 
included what is now Contra Costa county.

Broder moved to Tulare in 1857, bringing with him his wife and two sons, Lewis 
and John.  Robert Broder and his sister, Molly, were born in Tulare county.

Robert Broder was engaged in ranching until shortly after his wife's death in 
1938.  He sold his holdings and moved into Visalia.

He had been ill for some time before being taken to a local hospital yesterday 
where he died last night.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday [December 1] at 3 p.m. at the Brooks 
Memorial chapel in Visalia." END

Tulare Advance Register (Tulare County, California). November 29, 1948.  Robert 
Broder was the son of Andrew Henderson Broder and Sarah Anna (Smith) Broder.
