Robert C. Broder, who has lived in this county most of the time for nearly fifty years and who is known from one end of it to the other, died at his home near Three Rivers yesterday forenoon. He came to Tulare county about 1857 and engaged in the cattle business with his brother John, and with the exception of the short time he conducted a livery stable in Visalia he has been in that line of business ever since, most of the time for himself, though he was for a time in charge of Dan Murphy's cattle interests in Nevada and in Mexico. Mr. Broder had been living alone at his Three Rivers home, and was found there in the barn yesterday morning in an unconscious condition by a son of Marion Carter, who immediately reported his discovery and the old gentleman was removed to the house, but he died without regaining consciousness. The immediate cause of death has not yet been learned in this city. Deceased was an uncle of John and Robert Broder, well known by many Tulareans, and the first named was his partner in the stock business. Mr. Broder was a prominent Mason, having held many positions of honor in that order. He will be buried under the auspices of [the] Visalia lodge, to which he belonged."
