Born in Old Franklin County, Mo., on January 6. 1824. Died January 5. 1904. Engaged in hauling provisions from Ft. Leavenworth to Mexico in 1846 during Mexican War. Came to California in 1849 and in 1857 located in Tulare County along Kings River. In 1884 his ranch consisted of 4,160 acres. An imposing man both physically and mentally. He served as Master of Traver Lodge in 1891. 1897 and 1898.
