Mr. Aubrey was born July 14, 1914 in Salt Lake City to Alice Simmons (Taysum) and Frank Thomas Aubrey Sr. As a young man he worked as a box boy for a grocery store and then he worked in building construction for Morrison Merrill Co. in Salt Lake City where he built screens and later making cabinets and studying blueprints. In 1956 the family moved to Woodland where he was employed at UC Davis as an architectural draftsman. He later advanced to building construction and inspector, retiring from UCD in 1975. He and his wife were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and they served together in church callings, including in youth programs, scouting, teaching Sunday School, chaperoning dances, organizing road shows, chauffering and hosting dinners and parties. In addition he served as bishop in the Woodland Ward and as a counselor to other bishops. After retiring, he served in the Birmingham Alabama Mission. He organized Little League and Babe Ruth teams along with his brother-in-law, Carl Sheffield. He was a member of various bowling leagues. He was a member of the Yolo Flyers Club. Survivors include Mr. Aubrey's wife of 68 years, Lucile Sheffield Aubrey of Brookings, Ore.; his daughters, Sheryl Haynes and her husband Frank of Salt Lake City, Barbara DeWitt and her husband Bob of Elk Grove, Linda Irvine and her husband Jerry and Janeen Vick and her husband Vern all of Brookings, Ore., Nancy Aubrey of Woodland; his sons, Jerry Aubrey and his wife Terri of Brookings, Ore.; Marty Aubrey and his wife Cindi of Wilton; Bryan Aubrey and his wife Cathy of Lodi; 26 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Alice Kay Aubrey; his brother, Kenneth LeRoy Aubrey; and his grandson, David Thomas Haynes. Services: Viewing is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28 at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland and at noon Thursday, Dec. 29 at the Woodland LDS Stake Center, 850 Pioneer Ave., Woodland. A funeral will follow visitation at 1 p.m. at the Stake Center with interment following at Monument Hill Memorial Park. Redwood Memorial Chapel, Brookings, Ore. and by McNary's Chapel of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements. Published in the Daily Democrat on 12/27/2005.
