Adams Jr. Theodore "Ted" Ellery Adams Jr. of Davis died suddenly of pulmonary complications Jan. 9, 2004, at Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento. He was 67. He was born Dec. 29, 1936, in Alhambra, to Ted and Beverly Adams. After receiving his bachelor's and master's degrees in range management from UC Davis, he served in the U.S. Army's Medical Service Corps for three years. Following his military service, he worked as a soil conservationist with the USDA Soil Conservation Service in Pleasanton. From 1972 until his retirement in 1998, he served as a Cooperative Extension wildlands specialist in the UCD agronomy and range science department. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, of Davis, daughter Linda Adams of Esparto, daughter Karen McCall and her husband, Dave, and two grandchildren, Nathan and Emma McCall, all of Fairfield. At the request of the deceased, no services will be held. The family asks donations in his memory be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.
