Born July 23, 1935, Mr. Barbano was a resident of Woodland and Yolo County for the last 26 years. He worked as a histologist at the UC Davis diagnostic laboratories, working in research and with the veterinary teaching hospital division of the university. He served as a heavy weapons specialist with the U.S. Army 18th Infantry from 1958 to 1964. He was awarded the Marksman and Sharpshooter medals and the National Defense Service Medal prior to his discharge from the California Army Reserve. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Susan Barbano; his daughter Laura Barbano; and son Michael Barbano, all of Woodland. He is also survived by brothers Norm and and Julio Barbano. Services: Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2005, at Kraft Bros. Chapel, 175 Second St., Woodland, with interment following at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 800 West St., Woodland. Donations can be made to the Oncology Research Center, UC Davis, 2315 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, 95817. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.
