Gordon Edward Davis died in Woodland on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005
at age 85.

Mr. Davis was born Nov. 23, 1920 in Fortuna to Berte and Ethel (Fisher) Davis. 
He had been a Yolo County resident for 46 years. In 1939, he graduated from 
Fortuna High School. Three years later he joined the U.S. Navy and served as 
an aviation machinist's mate during World War II. He worked for the city of 
Davis as a landscape supervisor in the park department for 11 years. He was a 
member of the Yolo Bowman and a ham radio operator. 

Survivors include Mr. Davis' wife of 38 years, Mabel (Goette) Davis of 
Woodland; his daughter, Judy Seaman of Lake Tahoe; his stepdaughters, Joann 
Dahl and Dee Kindelt of Woodland; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 
and his brothers, Roy Davis of Woodland and Less Davis of Dallas, Ore. He was 
preceded in death by his sisters, Edith Gilbert and Dorothy Thompson and his 
brothers, Jack and Ken Davis.

The family requests that memorials in Mr. Davis' name be directed to Hospice 
of Yolo County, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95617; or The American Cancer Society of 
Northern California, 1765 Challenge Way, Suite 115, Sacramento, 95815.

Services: Respecting the wishes of Mr. Davis, no services are scheduled. Kraft 
Bros. Funeral Directors is assisting the family with arrangements.
