De Fer, Richard Arlon       
 
June 3, 1942 - Nov. 13, 2005

Richard Arlon De Fer died at his home in Woodland Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005 at age 
63.

Mr. De Fer was born June 3, 1942 to Estes and Maggie (Searls) De Fer in 
Cartwright, Okla. He was employed in the timber industry working as a 
professional tree trimmer for more than 20 years.

Survivors include Mr. De Fer's wife of 36 years, Lena De Fer of Woodland of 
Woodland; his daughter, Gerry Lynn Hamilton and her husband James of 
Bellflower; his sons, Curtis Osborne and Ken Osborne, both of Redding, Dennis 
Osborne and his wife Diana of Woodland, Joseph De Fer of Cheyenne, Wyo. and 
William De Fer of Buena Park; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his 
sisters, Linda Steves of Trinidad and Dorothy Fredrickson of Salem, Ore.; and 
his brother, Robert De Fer of Mendocino. He was preceded in death by his 
grandson, Timothy Osborne. 

Services: A graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17 at 
Monument Hill Memorial Park, 35036 County Road 22, Woodland with Reverend Mark 
Gallego of Foursquare Church officiating. Evergreen Funeral Service of 
Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.
