Frazier, Mary Alice    
 
Mary Alice Frazier died peacefully on Feb. 21, 2006 at Alderson Convalescent 
Hospital in Woodland at the age of 91. She was born on July 12, 1914 in Yolo 
County to Lewis J. Richter and Kate (Morris) Richter. She is preceded in death 
by her brother, Elwyn R. Richter.

Mary Alice is survived by her sons, Karl Frazier and companion Linda Teal of 
Woodland and the Reverend Earl Frazier and his wife Chong Boon of Milpitas. 
She is also survived by her grandchildren Susan Frazier, Edward Frazier, 
Tamara Frazier and Kyle Frazier and great-grandchildren Marissa Souza and Ava 
Frazier.

Mary Alice lived her entire life in Yolo County. She was a 1933 graduate of 
Woodland High School and a 1937 graduate of Chico State College. She was a 
member of Delta Phi Upsilon, National Honorary Professional Kindergarten-
Primary Fraternity, Delta chapter. She was an elementary and high school 
teacher for the Woodland Joint Unified School District for seven years.

Mary Alice kept weather observation records for the State Department of Water 
Resources beginning in 1949. She was a volunteer at St. John's Retirement 
Village for many years. She was an accomplished seamstress and devoted many 
hours to sewing clothes for her children, grandchildren and great-
grandchildren. 

Entombment services will be private in accordance with Mary Alice's final 
wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary Alice Frazier's name can be made 
to St. John's Retirement Village or the charity of the donor's choice. Kraft 
Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.
