"Norm" July 18, 1938 - Jan. 6, 2006 Mr. Norman R. Glover, 67, surrounded by family, died peacefully at Woodland Memorial Hospital after a 19-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Martinez, Norm made his home in Woodland for the past 34 years. A graduate of Chico State University, Norm served in the U.S. Army as a medic. Norm became a banker in 1965 and first worked for Crocker Bank from 1965 to 1972, than moved to Woodland after accepting a position with Farm Credit from 1972 to 1990. In July of 1990, he joined First Northern Bank where he retired in May of 2005. In 1995, Norm was honored as the Agri-Business Person of the Year at the annual Farm City Night Banquet. Norm loved spending time with his family and working with livestock, especially the sheep at the ranch in Acampo. His love of animals and working with youth led him to volunteer as a 4-H leader for 24 years, as well as volunteering at the Yolo County Fair for over 30 years. He also enjoyed and spent time in the outdoors. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Nancy, his daughter Trish Reiff and her husband Mike, his son Frank and his wife Kelly, all of Woodland, his brothers Gordon Glover of Long Beach and Stephen Glover and his wife Bernadette of Galt/Bend, Ore. and his stepsister Kay Hoffman of San Diego, stepbrothers Roger Hoffman of Salt Lake City and Gary Hoffman of San Diego and father-in- law Elwyn "Greg" Gregory of Woodland. He was also a wonderful and dedicated grandfather to Carter and Tayler Reiff and Sebastian and Brayden Glover all of Woodland. He is preceded in death by his father Frank Glover, mother Mary Margaret Hoffman, stepfather Verne Hoffman Jr. and mother-in-law Elsa A. Gregory. Services: A short graveside service will take place Thursday, Jan. 12 at 2 p.m. at Monument Hill followed by a celebration of his life at 3 p.m. at Yolo County Fairgrounds in the Home Arts Building. McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
